Oil-Resistant Conveyor Belt

At Dexon Rubber, we offer the OR Grade Oil-Resistant Conveyor Belt, designed specifically for conveying materials that contain oil, grease, fats or non-polar organic solvents. When standard belts swell, deform or fail under oil exposure, our OR Grade belt offers durability and longevity in those demanding environments. (Based on supplier specification for OR Grade belts)

What “OR Grade” Means

  • “OR” stands for Oil-Resistant: a cover rubber compound (typically NBR blend) formulated to resist oil absorption, swelling and degradation.
  • The OR Grade is used for materials like machine-oil coated parts, heavy-oil treated coal, oily fertilizers, grains coated in oil, fish/meat product conveying and other oily or greasy bulk loads.
  • Standard working temperature range is generally –30 °C to +70 °C for many applications unless specified higher for oil + heat resistant grades.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Oil Resistant Cover Compound: Our covers use a nitrile (NBR)-based or specialised rubber blend to resist mineral oils, vegetable/animal fats, paraffin oils and petrol.
  • Reduced Swelling & Deformation: Prevents rubber cover swelling and carcass damage from oil penetration -minimises tracking issues and belt failure.
  • Extended Belt Life in Oily Environments: By using the correct oil-resistant grade, you avoid premature failure and downtime compared to using a standard belt in an oil-exposed environment.
  • Versatility for Oily Materials: Suitable for conveying oily coal, oil-coated grains or seeds, oily woodchips, processed food with oil content, etc.
  • Customisable to Your Requirements: Carcass fabric, number of plies, cover thickness, and belt width can be tailored based on your load, environment and oil exposure.

Typical Applications

  • Conveying oily coal or coke in thermal-power or processing plants where coal is treated with oil/grease.
  • Handling fertiliser pellets coated with oil or spotted with oil residues during processing.
  • Transporting oil-seed cakes, soybean draff, fish/meat products with residual oils.
  • Conveying woodchips, recycled material, refuse with oil/grease contact.
